World Happiness Report 2023 – Check Country-wise Rank in the Happiness Index report including the rank of India.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network recently released the 10th edition of the World Happiness Report. The happiness index report has included survey data from more than 150 counties worldwide. The report has revealed the brightest truth of humans in the darkest time.

As we all know that the last three years were not too good for us due to the pandemic covid-19. But in the pandemic time, there is not only pain and suffering but we also get aware of a good thing. At that time, social support and kindness also increased between us.

In the year 2022, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the World Happiness Report, the 10th edition of the happiness chart was released. The World Happiness Report 2023 will be released on 20th March (Monday). Country wise world happiness index is given below.

What is World Happiness Index 2023?

Every year the Sustainable Development Solutions Network publishes the World Happiness Index. This report is prepared on the basis of the survey on the comprehensive level of happiness globally.

The Happiness Index Report is based on two ideas-

  • Opinion polls are used to appraise life and evaluate happiness.
  • Identifying crucial factors that influence life satisfaction and assessment across nations.

  • Social Support
  • Life longing

World Happiness Report

The 10th edition of the World Happiness Index was released recently. The country-wise rank as per the latest report are:

  • Finland has managed the title of the World’s Happiest Country followed by Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.
  • Countries like Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania have the greatest progress in Happiness.
  • Afghanistan got the title of Unhappiest Nation and was followed by Lebanon, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, and Botswana.
  • India is in the 136th position which was 139 a year ago.

1. Finland

Finland is in first position in World Happiness Report and got the title of Happiest County in the World and scored 7.842 out of 10 by the mutual faith among the people and its strong understanding of civic solidarity.

2. Denmark

3. Iceland

4. Netherlands

The Netherlands, also known as Holland by many tulip devotees, is the fifth-happiest country in the world with a score of 7.464. The Netherlands scored the highest out of the top seven nations when it comes to giving, and it also had an incredibly low perception of corruption.

5. Luxembourg

Luxembourg has gained 5th place in the happiness index report, has historical landmarks and castles, as well as beautiful natural surroundings, delicious cuisine, and a diverse cultural scene.

6. Sweden

Sweden ranks in the sixth position in the Happiness report. Sweden is known to sustain a healthy work-life balance and is also one of the best countries in the world for women because of its priority on social equality, which starts in kindergarten. Sweden also offers 16 months of paid parental leave (maternity and paternity leave), which may be divided between a couple, and provides free daycare.

7. Israel

Israel is ranked seventh because it has a strong social and family structure, a healthy life longing, first-rate healthcare, and a stable economy.

8. New Zealand

New Zealand comes in 8th Position with its social welfare initiatives. Many people throughout the world consider New Zealand to be among the greatest.


Happiness is now been accepted as a goal of Public Policy which is measured by considering many factors in mind. The last few years were not good for all of us, but when we analyze the World Happiness Index Report, we got a surprising result.

At the time of the Covid-19 pandemic, people starts helping each other, and the social bonding between the citizen increased in every country of the world. People starts believing each other and the Happiness report was affected by it.
