DEO Exam Overview
The preliminary exam contained a single objective-type question paper. All questions in the exam were in English and Tamil language. In the paper total of 200 questions were given by the organisation. In the exam, 175 questions were related to General Studies and 25 questions were related to Aptitude and Mental ability. The exam duration was 3 hours. The exam was conducted on an OMR sheet.

Those examinees will qualify for the prelims paper with minimum qualifying marks will only take part in the Main exam and further selection process. The minimum qualifying mark for SC/ST/OBC is 90 marks and for others, 120 marks are fixed by the organisation.
DEO Answer Key and Objection Submission Information
The provisional answer key will be published online on the official site within 6 six days from the date of the written exam. After the publication of the DEO answer key, applicants can match their answers with the tentative key of the paper. Aspirants can challenge the provisional answer key if any doubt through the ‘Answer Key Challenge’ window.
Examinee will be submitted the objection only in online mode and the objection window will be open within seven days from the date of publication of the tentative answer key. The submitted objection will be referred to a committee comprising experts in each subject. The final answer key will be published after the completion of the selection process.
