The Department of Skill Development & Technical Education, Odisha has issued a notification related to Diploma Common Entrance Test on 15 April 2023. Through this test, students can get admission to a Diploma in Engineering/Technology in Government & Private Institute/ Polytechnic of Odisha for the academic session of 2023-24.
Interested aspirants can submit their application form on the skill.samsodisha.gov.in site of the Education board. The submission of online applications commenced on 17 April 2023 and the last date for 3rd-semester & 1st-semester application forms is 17 May & 31 May, respectively.

As per the official notification, the merit-cum-poverty scholarships will also be provided to 20% of students in every discipline and a one-time scholarship of 6000/- will also be provided to eligible topper girl students in every semester.
Eligibility Criteria for Diploma Courses
- For Admission to Diploma 1st Semester: Applicants have passed HSC examination/ 10th standard examination conducted by BSE, Odisha.
- For Admission to Diploma 3rd Semester: Candidates cleared 12th class with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects from CHSE/ 2 years course in Engineering trade/ 2 years ITI in Engineering Trades or 10th class from any recognised board of Odisha.
The minimum age decided by the Education department is 14 years and there is no upper age limit for admission to diploma courses.
Polytechnic Diploma Application Form Fee
The application fee is non-refundable and can be paid using a credit card, debit card or net banking system. Candidates who belong to SC/ST & female candidates are required to pay 200 rupees and male applicants are required to pay ₹300/-. Apart from this, physically challenged people, orphans & transgender aspirants are exempted to pay the application fee.
