State Selection Board Odisha Police completed the application registration for Constable (Civil) posts on 21 January 2023. The board will now hold an open competitive exam for these posts. The exam will be conducted on 26 February.

In compliance with the written test, OPSSB has released admit cards at least one week before the exam date. The candidates can download Odisha Police Constable Admit Card from the official website i.e. opssb.nic.in. Candidates need to fill in the application registration number and date of birth to access the same.

OPSSB has released a recruitment for 4790 vacancies of Constables (Civil) in 35 district establishments. Online applications were accepted for these posts from 30 December to 21 January 2023 through the official website. The selection process comprises Written Examinations, Physical Tests and Medical Tests.

Update on Physical Test Date

Schedule for the PET/PST has been released. Physical test will commence from 23 March.

Odisha Police Constable Exam Scheme and Paper Pattern

The selection of the candidates for the Constable (Civil) posts will be done on basis of their performance in various phases of the selection process. These phases are:

  • Written Examination or Computer-Based Test
  • Physical Tests
  • Driving Test
Exam Scheme
  • The examination shall be conducted in a transparent manner using OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) or OCR (Optical Character Recognition) sheet or Computer based written examination.
  • The questions in the written examination shall comprise of Odia language, English Language, Arithmetic, General Knowledge, Situational Awareness, Logical reasoning and Basic computer knowledge.
  • The standard of the questions shall be such that a student who has passed the +2 Examination will be able to answer.
  • There shall be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • The medium of written examination shall be in English except for the questions in the Odia language.
