The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) is authorized for conducting the yearly basis Karnataka Common Entrance Test also known as Karnataka UGCET. The purpose of this test is to offer admission to eligible students in Engineering, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Architecture, and other programmes. There are a total of 198 participating colleges which provide admission to students through KCET.

Each eligible student will be admitted to one of the state’s public and private higher education institutions. NEET scores will be used to determine who gets into dental/medical/AYUSH programmes. While the National Architecture Test (NAT) or the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains are the entrance requirements for architecture programmes.

The application registration for session 2023-24 started through the official website on 02 March. The applications can be submitted online mode only. The last date for submission of a filled application form is 05 April 2023. Thereafter, the entrance test is scheduled to be held in May 2023.

KCET / UGCET Educational Requirements

Qualification: Students must have passed the 12^th class or its equivalent from a recognized education board or authority.

Qualifying Subjects: Students must have passed the 12^th class with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics/ Biology subjects from a recognized education board. Those who are appearing in the 12^th class are also eligible to apply.

Minimum marks: Students must have secured at least 45% marks (40% marks for reserved categories) in PCM/ PCB subjects.

B.Pharma: Candidates must have passed class 12^th with 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology from a recognized board. There will be a 5% relaxation for the students who belong to SC/ ST categories.

B.V.Sc. & A.H.: Candidates must have passed 12^th with 50% marks in PCB and English. There is a provision of 5% relaxation for the SC/ ST categories students.

Arch: Candidates must have passed class 12^th with 50% marks with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. Candidates must possess a valid scorecard of JEE Main or NATA.

BDS/ MBBS/ AYUSH Courses: Candidates must have passed 12^th class with 50% marks in PCB. In class 12^th, English must be a compulsory subject. Also, students should be having a valid scorecard of NEET.
