According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rains in the state from June 7 to 11. A cyclonic circulation will form over the southeast Arabian Sea on June 5. This storm has been named Biporjoy. Due to this, the cyclonic circulation can become low pressure around June 7. Due to this, there is a possibility of heavy rains from June 7 to 11 along with the storm.
Rain Impact of Biporjoy
In the last 24 hours, 11 talukas in the state have received rainfall. Rainfall was recorded in five talukas of Banaskantha district. Tharad and Deodar in Banaskantha recorded the highest rainfall of one inch.
Between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., 54 talukas in the state received rainfall. The highest rainfall of two inches was recorded in Mehmedabad in Kheda. Lakheni in Banaskantha and Nadiad in Kheda received more than one and a half inches of rain. More than an inch of rain was recorded in 12 talukas in just two hours this morning.
