All India Bar Examination is a certification exam conducted twice a year by the Bar Council of India for law graduates willing to start practising their profession as lawyers. The exam is conducted in 50 cities having 140 centres across the country.
The exam is conducted to assess the basic level knowledge of a member and lay down a minimum benchmark for entering into the practice of law in addition to assessing the candidate’s analytical skills. After clearing the All India Bar Examination, the candidate is awarded a certificate of practice by the Bar Council of India. Qualified members in the exam can attend court hearings in any tribunal’s courts and administrative bodies.
